Virtual Admission Sessions

We are pleased to offer a variety of online panel presentations, some by Harvard staff and others in cooperation with a number of selective universities.  See below for information on the panels, which are open to students in all Pre-College sessions.

Harvard College Admissions Talk
A Harvard College Admissions representative explains how Harvard selects its first-year class.
Panel: Selecting the Right College
A panel of Resident Deans describe their experiences when applying to college, give tips on figuring out what college is right for you, and answer questions.

Proctor Panel: The Student Experience
Please join us for a question-and-answer session with current undergraduates or recent graduates. This is your opportunity to find out what life is like on campus from the student perspective. The focus of this panel will be on how these students went through the college process themselves and then what the college experience has been like for them.

Writing the College Application Essay
Writing the college essay can feel stressful—but if you know how admissions readers consider the essays and how to engage those readers effectively, you are on the way to a more successful essay. Come learn helpful strategies for choosing a topic and writing the essay.
Paying for College and Applying for Financial Aid
Financial aid comes in several forms: Grants and scholarships that are not repaid, loans that must be repaid, or federal Work-Study awards which allow you to earn a paycheck while attending college. Come learn about different ways to finance your college education with Michael Huddy, Director of Student Financial Services. Majority of the content applies to United States citizens.
